The Roots and River Emerging Artist Mentorship Program is a 9 month program that matches emerging black queer artists, especially those just graduating from college, with established artists in the community. During their time in the program, mentees are be expected to create work in their chosen medium(s), attend workshops & master classes, and meet regularly with their mentors. Mentors are, in turn, expected to regularly meet with their mentees, to provide their mentees with guidance about how to navigate their chosen field, and to enrich their mentees’ artistic practice. The Emerging Artist Mentorship Program culminates in a multi-disciplinary showcase of work in June.
